Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL):
Do you have a heart for teaching, for equipping the needy with a skill that will last a lifetime? Come and teach English with us; encourage and strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ in an exciting way!
English is one of the fastest growing languages in the world. In many countries, it is a key to opening doors of employment, financial stability and respect. People of all ages and all nations are seeking ESL education to open these doors of opportunity.
During the summer of 2006, Operation Serve International’s ESL program took full swing in Mexico City. Each summer OSI offers Beginner’s through Advanced English courses to some of the poorest communities in Mexico City. With the aid of OSI staff and volunteers, numerous students graduate at the end of four weeks with a skill that will aid them for a lifetime and a Light that will last them eternity.
As one of our teachers, you will spend 2 weeks - 2 months working alongside an ESL Facilitator with Operation Serve ®, teaching English in some of the poorest areas of Mexico City. Students range from all ages and from beginners to advanced placement in English. Experience in teaching is welcomed, but teaching certification is not necessary. Spanish skills are beneficial for teaching!
