How long is the ESL program?

Our ESL program lasts 2 months in the summer and teachers can serve anywhere between 2 weeks - 2 months. See our Mexico team calendar for exact dates.

What do ESL teachers do?

Our ESL teachers, under the supervision of an ESL Facilitator, teach roughly 6 different classes of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced. The classes are offered at local churches around Mexico City.

What does a week look like?

Classes are taught Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, Saturday. One day a week is used for preparation and planning while the other day is for rest and rejuvination. Our ESL classes are often taught at churches in poorer areas around the city that can take up to 2 hours of travel time from the hotel. Teachers must be prepared for long days, hard travel, high energy students and an exciting, life changing experience.

Who can teach ESL?

Anyone with a willing heart and desire to teach is open to apply! Experience in teaching and speaking Spanish is welcomed, but certification and fluency of Spanish is not necessary. Applicants must be 18 years or older.
